Rise and Fall of Atlantis
This talk (based on John Gordon's newly published book, The Rise & Fall of Atlantis) will focus on the reasons why - contrary to modern scientific orthodoxy - the collapse and disintegration of an ancient Atlantic continent, as Plato and Blavatsky described, could have happened and almost certainly did. It will deal with matters as diverse as the original northern and southern Atlantean continents, plate tectonic theory, the changing shape of continents, the nature of the Earth's core and its dynamic relationship to the ionosphere, plus the nature of astrophysical cycles and how these cause geological reactions and changes of polarity of our Earthsphere. It will also endeavour to place all of these issues in the same theosophical context as The Secret Doctrine.

John Gordon
John was born in the Far East, and has run his own practice of Chartered Surveyors since 1979. He's been a member of the Society since 1975, since when he found himself dragged into becoming Hon. Sec. of the Theosophical Research Centre, President of Blavatsky Lodge and a member of the National Council. In between times, he's somehow managed to get four books published on subjects ranging from Esoteric Astrology, to ancient Egyptian esotericism and now Atlantis.
